PHOTOS: Tiverton Fire Trains For Ice Rescue, Warns Citizens
As the ice is forming on our lakes, Tiverton firefighters are making sure they're trained up in ice rescue.
TIVERTON, RI — Tiverton fire officials ran some useful ice rescue training Wednesday, Jan. 16. They're also warning residents to be sure of ice thickness before going out.
If the ice is two or fewer inches thick, stay off! At four inches, it's safe for ice fishing. See the graphic below for more recommendations.
