Recounts Requested In 14 Contests: Board Of Elections
The state board of elections will meet Thursday to consider 14 recount requests.

TIVERTON, RI—The state board of elections has received 14 requests for recounts, according to Miguel J. Nunez, deputy director of elections. The recounts are not automatic. The board will meet Thursday at 3 p.m. to review them.
Here is the list.
House Dist 30 (Incumbent Anthony Giarrusso, R-East Greenwich, lost to Democrat Justine Caldwell, according to unofficial results.)

Town Council Smithfield
Coventry Referendum 4 (Voters changed the Financial Town Meeting rules to eliminate offering amendments and taking the vote at FTM, in favor of voting at an all day referendum after the FTM. It won by 6,221 to 6,108, according to unofficial results.)

State Rep Dist 28 (Coventry's Robert Nardolillo did not seek another term. The Republican George A. Nardone collected 2,915 votes versus 2,884 for Lucas W. Murray, the Democrat, according to unofficial results.

House Dist 26 (Former House Minority Leader Patricia Morgan did not seek another term.)
Tiverton Question 10 (Tiverton voters opted not to allow casino gambling revenue to be used on debt service, capital development or infrastructure and "not to prohibit" using it on the operation budget. But the margin of victory was only 21 votes, per the unofficial results.)
