Santa Claus Joins Tiverton Police To Reward Good Drivers
St. Nick helped hand out gift cards donated by local businesses and members of the department.

TIVERTON, RI — Tiverton police had a very special visitor from the North Pole Monday. Santa Claus himself joined Sergeant John LeDuc in his patrols, handing out gift cards to drivers on the "nice list."
The gift cards were donated by local businesses and other members of the police department.
The good driver traffic stops are a tradition for the department. Last Valentine's Day, officers randomly pulled over residents and handed out gifts throughout the day, which included a $150 gift card for Twin River Casino Hotel Tiverton at Trattoria Romana, a gift card for a beginner ski or snow board lesson at Gunstock Mountain Resort and a 7 p.m. reservation at Sakonnet River Grille with a $100 dinner credit. Officers also visited local businesses with Dunkin' Donuts coffee and donuts.
