What are the critical differences between you and the other candidates seeking this post?
I am a parent with young kids in the school system- my circle of friends consists of other parents of younger students and this is a part of the sector that I would like to continue to tap into for ideas and solutions.
If you are a challenger, in what way has the current board or officeholder failed the community (or district or constituency)
The current committee members have served admirably, I am looking to enhance their Committee for a forward thinking group of 5.
What accomplishments in your past would you cite as evidence you can handle this job?
I have 2 years served on the Budget Committee, I taught in schools my first 4 years out of college and I have a general understanding of the challenges this position entails. I also have been a member of the elementary PTO group and this has furthered my knowledge of the district.
The best advice ever shared with me was:
You cannot complain if you do not vote.
What else would you like voters to know about yourself and your positions?
I am seeking a seat on the School Committee because my duties and experience in budgeting could be a needed asset to the school district. I am thoughtful, communicative, action oriented and strive to make positive changes in my community.
