Tiverton Firefighters Quickly Extinguish Flames In Small Boat

TIVERTON, RI — Tiverton firefighters were called to a boat fire near Riverside Drive on Tuesday afternoon. The flames were quickly extinguished and the Tiverton Fire Marshal is investigating the cause.

Video taken at the scene show flames and smoke billowing out of the back of the boat, near the engine.

The U.S. Coast Guard and Rhode Island Department of Environmental Management were notified of the fire and came to the scene to assist. As a precaution, boats from the Marine Task Force were called in as well, the fire department said.

No injuries were reported.
