Tiverton Firefighters Rescue 3 From Water After Boat Capsizes

TIVERTON, RI — Three people were rescued from the water near Jack's Island on Wednesday morning. The Tiverton Fire Department and the Narragansett Bay Marine Task Force responded to the area around 9 a.m. after a boat capsized in the water.

According to Tiverton firefighters, the three people were in the water for about half an hour before being rescued by the department's fire boat and brought to a nearby dock. Portsmouth and Fall River emergency services transported all three people to Rhode Island Hospital for treatment.
