TIVERTON, RI — Tiverton Power has donated $13,000 to place more instructional technology in the hands of THS students. With this level of support, Tiverton High School (THS) is able to expand digital learning to engage students. Today, THS students have access to more technology than ever thanks in large part to the generosity of Tiverton Power.
Tiverton Power is a combined-cycle natural gas-fired power plant owned and operated by Emera Energy of Halifax, Nova Scotia. Tiverton Power has a long-standing commitment to THS in partnership with the Tiverton Education Foundation since 2009. Their recent donation funded mobile classroom sets of Chromebooks, that directly impact well over 100 students' instructional experiences. One teacher commented, "...we are so thrilled to be getting the chance to incorporate even more technological enhancements to our curriculum." Both teachers and students truly appreciate the gift.

Previous donations from Tiverton Power have supported hardware for Tiverton High School’s engineering, science, and computer science courses. Our high school and Tiverton Power hope to partner in the fall to bring real-world hands on instruction to students through interactive classroom visits from the engineers and scientists who work at the local facility.
