Tiverton Police: Domestic Violence, Warrants and Vandalism

All arrest information is supplied solely by the Tiverton Police Department. Arrests do not necessarily indicate a conviction.

The Tiverton Police Department made the following arrests last week:

  • Sherri A. Feldman, 37, of 458 Lake Road, Tiverton was charged with domestic assault, domestic disorderly conduct and resisting arrest  on Monday, June 17 at 2:48 a.m. Police received a report of a domestic argument on East Road from a 41-year-old man, Feldman's boyfriend. The victim alleged Feldman hit him in the face and left area driving green Ford Taurus. Police stopped Feldman's car and when police started to arrest her on domestic charges she began pulling away from officers and twisting her body in an effort to prevent police from securing her in cuffs. Feldman was arraigned the next morning in Second Division District Court.
  • Megan Raposa, 34, of 1399 Crandall Road, Tiverton, was charged with domestic assault, on Monday, June 17 at 12:30 p.m. Raposa's boyfriend went to police headquarters on Monday and alleged Raposa and he had argued the night before and that she had pushed him and punched him in the face. Based on that, police arrested Raposa at the residence the two shared. She was processed and released later that on $1,000 personal recognizance after arraignment by a justice of the peace.
  • Steven M. West, 51, of 160 Main Road Apt. 2, Tiverton, charged with disorderly conduct at 8:40 a.m. on Tuesday, June 18 after he was allegedly combative with officers who were trying to clear an area at the intersection of Hooper Street and Main Road due to a natural gas leak. West was smoking a cigarette and allegedly trying to remove his car from an area that police had cordoned off for emergency personnel. Police approached West, asking him to leave the area and put out his cigarette. At that time West allegedly lit a second cigarette and began yelling and screaming as he attempted to retrieve his car. Police arrested him and charged him with disorderly conduct. No arraignment information was available at press time.
  • Keith G. Mottas, 38, of 1205 Crandall Road, Tiverton, arrested on a warrant on Tuesday, June 18 at 2:24 p.m. after stopped him on State Avenue for a traffic violation. Mottas was wanted by Tiverton police following a March incident where he allegedly stole his mother's car without her permission. No arraignment information was available at press time.
  • Brian K. Brownell, 48, of 1500 Crandall Road Apt. 1, Tiverton, charged with obstructing an officer in execution of duty on Friday, June 21 at 7:02 p.m. Brownell was arrested at his home based on a warrant. He was arraigned by a justice of the peace and released on $1,000 surety bail.
  • Cody R. Zafriades, 18, of 395 Waterman Ave. Apt. 3, East Providence, arrested on a Sixth Division District Court bench warrant on Saturday, June 22 at 7:36 p.m. Police stopped Zafriades on Route 24 because he had a broken brake light. A subsequent computer check revealed that Zafriades was wanted on a Family Court warrant for failure to appear in court. He was held at the state Training School.
  • Kevin M. Strickland, 23, of 64 Clement St. Apt 2S, Fall River, MA, charged with vandalism on Sunday, June 23 at 9:11 p.m. after a person came into police headquarters to report damage to his truck. The victim alleged that shortly before 9 p.m. that night Stickland had parked behind his car on Shove Street and hit the side of his truck with a metal lock wrapped in a towel. Strickland turned himself into police headquarters and was released that same night on a Second Division District Court summons.
  • Edward Berube, 73, of 2371 Main Road, Tiverton, was arrested on a Second Division District Court bench warrant for failure to pay $500 in fines. Police arrested Berube after they were called to the area of Berube's residence to mediate an ongoing neighbor dispute. After Berube refused to pay the money he owed to the courts, he was transferred to the Adult Correctional Institution in Cranston.
  • Russell S. Murray, 42, of 41 Bellview Ave., Tiverton, charged with domestic assault, domestic refusal to relinquish a telephone and violation of a no contact order on Wednesday, June 26 at 7:14 p.m. Police responded to the Murray's estranged wife's home on Bellview Avenue for a report of a domestic argument. The wife - with whom Murray has an active no contact order with- said Murray was at the residence picking up personal items when they pair started arguing. Murray allegedly swore at his wife and began assaulting her. When she attempted call 911, he pushed her on couch and grabbed phone away from her to prevent her from calling 911. After that he allegedly took a water bottle and started splashed water on her. Murray had fled the residence by the time police arrived, but police found him and arrested him at a local auto body shop where he works. Murray was deemed a probation violator, as he was just adjudicated for a domestic assault charge in May. He was transferred to the ACI.
