Tiverton Police Offer Drivers Sweet Valentine's Day 'Tickets'

Safe drivers were rewarded with a sweet surprise this Valentine's Day.

TIVERTON, RI — Usually, getting pulled over by the police isn't fun for drivers, most often ending with a costly speeding ticket. This Valentine's Day. Tiverton Police gave some drivers a sweet surprise with its 2020 Safe Driver Recognition Campaign.

On Friday, Tiverton police officers pulled over safe drivers, offering them boxes of Valentine's chocolate and gift cards to local businesses.

"The Tiverton Police Department applauds all of you out there that abide by local traffic laws consistently!!" the department wrote on Facebook. "Thank you and Happy Valentine's Day to all!! A big thank you to Sakonnet River Grille and Subway on Stafford Road for your assistance with this endeavor!!"
