Tiverton Police To Step Up Patrols After Beach Benches Burned

TIVERTON, RI — Tiverton police will step up patrols at Fogland Beach after the newly installed picnic benches were burned over the weekend.

"[Saturday] night, someone decided to utilize the newly replaced picnic benches as firewood," the town's Recreation Department said.

The department urged anyone with information about the incident to reach out to Tiverton police. Officer Nicholas Jamrog is investigating, and can be reached at 401-625-6716 or njamrog@tivertonpoliceri.com.

Along with stepping up patrols, police said security cameras will be installed at the beach.
