Tiverton Tree Lighting Ceremony: Necessary Info

The Tiverton tree lighting ceremony is happening this Saturday, Dec. 1 at Town Hall. Road are closed, but police will allow residents in.

TIVERTON, R.I. — Get ready for Tiverton's annual tree lighting, which is happening this Saturday, Dec. 1. The celebration starts at 4:45 p.m. at Town Hall.

Police are warning motorists that Lawton Avenue at Hillside Avenue will be closed off "so everyone can enjoy the lighting of the tree at Town Hall." The closure is expected to last about an hour at most.

If you live in the area, just speak with the officers there and they'll be able to get you home.

After the tree lighting, the festivities are moving down to Fort Barton School where the Tiverton Fire Department is going to escort Santa.
