Tiverton Woman Faces Two Counts of Felony Drug Possession

A Tiverton woman was charged with two felony drug possession counts after she was stopped for not wearing her seatbelt on Hooper Street.

Stacy L. Costa, 28., of 1 Mill St., Apt. 1401, Tiverton, was arrested on Tuesday, June 25 at 4:30 p.m. After police stopped her for a motor vehicle infraction and conducted a subsequent computer check on her identification, officers discovered the Costa was wanted on an active bench warrant for failure to appear in court. She was arrested and during an inventory search of her handbag, Tiverton Police discovered blue and white pills later determined to be Suboxone and Valium. She was charged with two felony drug possession counts.

Costa was arraigned in Second Division District Court and later released on surety bail.
