Police: Off-Duty Pawtucket Cop Shot Man In West Greenwich
A man, 18, was shot and injured inside his car on Nooseneck Hill Road Wednesday night.
WEST GREENWICH, RI — An investigation is underway after an off-duty Pawtucket police officer shot an 18-year-old West Greenwich man in his vehicle on Nooseneck Hill Road.
West Greenwich police and Rhode Island State Police responded to a report of gunfire Wednesday night, according to West Greenwich Police Chief Richard Ramsay.
Ramsay told WJAR an incident involving the two men started on I-95. They left the highway at Exit 6 in separate vehicles. The Pawtucket officer reportedly used his service weapon and fired one shot hitting the victim in the arm. A car came to a stop after a shot was fired. The shooting happened in the area of Wicked Good Pizza.

The officer was not hurt. The victim was transported to Rhode Island hospital in stable condition.
