7 Former South Carolina Gamecocks Taken in 2013 NFL Draft
USC's Damario Jeffrey, a former Columbia High School standout, signed a free agent contract following the draft.
Seven former South Carolina Gamecocks were selected in this weekend's NFL Draft.
The most-discussed draft pick from the Gameocks was runningback Marcus Lattimore, who has suffered two career-threatening knee injuries in his collegiate career. Lattimore was taken in the fourth round by the San Francisco 49ers.

- D.J. Swearinger, one of the top safeties in the draft, was taken in the second round by the Houston Texas.
- Ace Sanders, a small but quick wide receiver, was taken in the fourth round by the Jacksonville Jaguars.
- Devin Taylor, a defensive end, was also taken in the fourth round — by the Detroit Lions.
- Linebacker DeVonte Holleman was taken in the sixth round by the Dallas Cowboys.
- Center T.J. Johnson was taken in the seventh by the Cincinnati Bengals.
- And tight end Justice Cunningham achieved a bit of fame by being the final player drafted — known as "Mr. Irrelevant" — when he was taken by the Indianapolis Colts with pick No. 254 in the 7th round. Another former Gamecock, kicker Ryan Succop, was taken in the spot four years ago.

- Damario Jeffrey, a linebacker who starred at Columbia High School before playing for the Gamecocks, signed a free agent deal with the Carolina Panthers following the draft.
