California House Member Mocks Mark Sanford on Chamber's Floor

Rep. Mark Sanford arrived late for a Wednesday evening vote in the Capitol Building--it was an hour earlier than scheduled--wearing his workout clothes

Before he cast a vote he was given a blazer to comply with the dress code. Some of his colleagues ribbed him good-naturedly, but one comment had a little more acid than the rest.

Roll Call reported that California Rep. Duncan Hunter (R-50) shouted, "“Where have you been? Hiking?”

The remark was a reference to then-Gov. Sanford's extramarital affair in Argentina, during which he told his staff he was hiking the Appalachian Trail.
