Campus Officials: USC Remains Safe Despite Crime
Recent shootings in Five Points and crime on campus have some worried.

Despite high-profile shootings recently in the Five Points area of Columbia, the University of South Carolina campus remains safe, university officials maintain.
They said in a weekend article in The State that with tens of thousands of students, hundreds of campus buildings and three-square-miles of campus, there are always going to be crime.
But recent armed robberies, petty thefts, vandalism and trespassing are well within line for a campus of this size.
