Columbia Police Department (CPD) investigators continue to determine the person (s) responsible for yesterday’s fatal shooting near Caughman Road, as well as a motive for the crime.

Officers were dispatched to the 200 block of Musgroves Mill Lane on Monday, July 5, 2021 for a reported shooting.  When officers arrived, they found the female victim identified by the Richland County Coroner’s Office as 19-year-old Trinity Sanders inside of a home with no signs of life.

Investigators gathered information at the scene and interviewed multiple people.
