Electronic Recycling Event Is Saturday in Richland County
Tires, computers, computer accessories, televisions, and many more items are on the list of things that will be accepted during the event.

Cleaning out the garage and need to get rid of some junk?
Remember you have to dispose of these things properly!
Richland County's Electronic Recycling event will be held from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday at Heathwood Hall Episcopal School, 3000 S. Beltline Blvd., Columbia.

The following materials will be accepted, according to the Keep the Midland Beautiful website:
- Tires - car and light truck tires or smaller; small tires (ie: bike or wheelbarrow) limit of 8 per family
- Computers and computer accessories (keyboards, monitors, printers, scanners)
- Televisions 40" or smaller - no consoles
- Stereos - no consoles
- Household electronics including VCRs, DVD players, power tools, radios, fax machines
- Small appliances, microwave ovens, household electric items with power cords
- Telephones (land and cell), pagers and answering machines
- Scrap metal - stoves, washers, dryers, bicycles, metal door frames, metal chairs, metal shelves, lawnmowers (must be free of gas and oil)
- Paper shredding - sponsored by Cintas Document Management.
- Refrigerators and Air Conditioners will be accepted (no Freon).
