Funeral Services for School Nurse Set for Friday

Teresa Garner, a school nurse at  and Richland One's Evening High School, passed away on May 4 at her home. 

She began her tenure at the district in August 2007.

"Nurse Garner not only cared for our students’ bruises and health issues, she also touched the hearts of everyone that she encountered," St. Andrews Middle Principal Kenneth Richardson said in a letter sent to parents. "She had a warm smile to match her heart and will be deeply missed by everyone to include teachers, parents, and mostly, our students."

"We send our heartfelt sympathy to Nurse Garner’s family and will rally around them as they grieve."

Funeral services for Garner will be held Friday, May 11, 2012 at 2 p.m. at Brookland Baptist Church, 1066 Sunset Boulevard, West Columbia. Viewing is scheduled for Thursday, May 10 from 1 to 6 p.m. at Bostick-Tompkins Funeral Home Chapel at 2930 Colonial Drive, Columbia.
