The Original Six Foundation, Gov. Nikki Haley's non-profit organization, held a press conference Monday morning to announce a statewide book drive.
Haley said the 67 SC DMV offices will be collecting gently used or new children’s and South Carolina history books from Aug. 5-17.
The books will be donated to libraries, schools, and after school programs in the rural counties that The Original Six Foundation serves. The Foundation is currently working in conjunction with Allendale, Bamberg, Barnwell, Clarendon, Marion, Marlboro, and Union counties.Â
