Governor's Mansion supervisor Chamberlain Branch was killed in collision with driver evading police.

A Cayce police officer who started a high-speed chase in December that killed the longtime supervisor of the SC Governor's Mansion has been cleared of wrong-doing.

According to The State, the Cayce officer is back on duty after a review of his decision to initiate a chase following an apparent traffic infraction.

The driver of the vehicle sped at speeds approaching 90 mph across the Blossom Street bridge and struck a van driven by Chamberlain Branch. Both drivers were killed.
