S.C. Supreme Court Reprimands Columbia Attorney For Sexual Relationship

Kana Rahman Johnson was publicly disciplined for relationship with man in divorce proceedings.

A Columbia attorney has been publicly reprimanded by the S.C. Supreme Court for a sexual relationship with a client.

Kana Rahman Johnson was representing the man in his divorce proceedings when the sexual relationship took place. The couple eventually reconciled and the proceedings ceased.

The state's rules of professional conduct states that a "lawyer shall not have sexual relations with a client when the client is in a vulnerable condition or is otherwise subject to the control or undue influence of the lawyer."
