SC GOP in House Vote to Overturn Obamacare for 40th Time
This attempt will also not make it out of the Senate.

On Friday, South Carolina's Republican delegation in the House of Representatives voted for the 40th time to defund Obamacare. This time, it was through H.R. 2009, also known as the Keep the IRS Off Your Health Care Act of 2013, which would ban the Treasury Secretary via the IRS from implementing the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act and the Health Care and Education Reconciliation Act a/k/a Obamacare.
Like the previous 39 efforts, this one is not expected to get out of the Senate.
After today's session the House will adjourn for August recess.
In response to the vote Rep. Joe Wilson (R-2) issued the following statement:
“The scandal-ridden Internal Revenue Service has proven itself to be incapable of operating impartially and fairly. Subjecting every American family to possible abuse and fraud by this bureaucratic agency is irresponsible. If we can’t trust the IRS to complete the simple task of administering tax status to groups, we certainly can not trust them to manage our healthcare.
“House Republicans are committed to preserving the doctor-patient relationship by dismantling and repealing the government healthcare takeover law. The federal government has no business meddling in our private and personal healthcare decisions. As the Administration carries on with Obamacare’s implementation, they are ignoring the will of the American people. As a proud cosponsor of this bill, I hope that the Senate will consider our efforts to protect every American family from potential mistreatment by the IRS.”
