Woman Poisoned Husband Using Eye Drop Chemical: Sheriff
A toxicology report showed that the woman's husband has poisonous levels of tetrahydrozoline in his body.

YORK COUNTY, SC — A South Carolina woman is charged with murder in the death of her husband and authorities allege that she poisoned her husband using a substance found in eye drops.
According to the York County Sheriff's Office, Lana Sue Clayton ,52, was arrested Friday and charged with murder and unlawful malicious tampering of food. The sheriff's office said Clayton poisoned the food of her husband, Stephen Delvalle Clayton, 64, between July 19-21.
Delvalle Clayton died from poisoning at his home on Island Forks Road in Clover, South Carolina on July 21.

A toxicology report revealed that there were poisonous levels of tetrahydrozoline in his body, according to the sheriff's office.
The Herald reported that Delvalle Clayton was found in the foyer of his upscale waterfront home after an apparent fall down the stairs. The paper also noted that tetrahydrozoline is found in over the counter eye drops and nasal sprays.

Lana Clayton reportedly worked at the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs in Charlotte, according to the Herald.
According to the sheriff's office, Lana Clayton admitted to investigators that she administered the substance to her husband without his knowledge.
The investigation is ongoing.
