Woman Returns to Columbia to Open Her 2nd Nothing Bundt Cakes
With first bakery in Texas, owner is excited to spread the joy in Forest Acres

Opening her first bakery three years ago in Arlington, Texas, Kandi Bubonic knew that she eventually wanted to open a second location but couldn’t imagine that it would lead her back to Columbia where she had spent several years after college. “It is such a wonderful place with southern hospitality -- a metropolitan area but with a small town feel,” explains Bubonic. Alongside husband Jason, four-year-old son Thomas and one-and-a-half-year-old Lucy, Bubonic says that this growing city is the perfect place to raise a family. “And, I’m thrilled that my sister lives here and my brother-in-law is moving from law enforcement to the role of bakery manager. We have an opportunity to change people’s lives and raise them up out of their situations. So not that different, except that we get to do it with cake!” The bakery will host grand opening festivities next week (see details below).
