Cyclist Hit On Natchez Trace

A bicyclist was hit by a vehicle on the Natchez Trace Parkway Sunday and life-flighted to Vanderbilt.

FLY, TN — A bicyclist was hit by a vehicle on the Natchez Trace Parkway Sunday afternoon and taken by helicopter to Vanderbilt University Medical Center, according to Maury County Fire officials.

The cyclist was hit around mile marker 418, near the unincorporated community of Fly, about 20 miles south-southwest of Franklin and 15 miles northwest of Columbia.

The cyclist's condition is unknown.

In July, another cyclist was hit by a car near the parkway's terminus. The incident was captured by a GoPro camera and went viral. The former dean of students at the prestigious University School of Nashville was arrested and charged in that incident.
