A Franklin woman and her son were killed in a crash in Alabama on the way to Panama City Beach for a family vacation.

FRANKLIN, TN -- A Franklin woman and her son were killed in a fiery crash in Alabama last week, but the family's three other children were saved because of a heroic sheriff's deputy.
Early on the morning of June 18, a two-car crash on Alabama Highway 167 killed Amy Nivens and her son Chandler, who were traveling with their family to Panama City Beach for a vacation. A 28-year-old man in the other car also died.
Nivens' three other children - ages 4, 10 and 14 - were also in the car and taken to the hospital with critical injuries. The older children have been released, while the 4-year-old remains hospitalized.

"Jace Holley was the first one on the scene and Jace actually risked his life to pull the three other babies from the fiery crash," Jamie Nivens told the station. "I wish one day that I get to meet him and hug him and say thank you."
There is a GoFundMe page to assist the Nivens family.
