On March 26, a relative called 911 and first responders found the then-six-week-old non-responsive and not breathing inside a Johnson Circle home. The paramedics performed CPR and the child's condition improved during a subsequent hospitalization.

Franklin Police say "a multi-layer investigation" found that Helm caused the injuries. Detectives say that Jones lied during the investigation.
