The first day of school in Franklin is August 10 for grades 1-10 and August 18 for kindergarten. Feel free to mark it on your calendar as one of the most dreaded days of the year for students and teachers — and feel free not to feel guilty about marking it as one of your favorites. The Franklin Special School District has released its 2017-2018 calendar for public schools.
The calendar includes important dates such as winter and spring vacations, religious holidays, federal holidays, early dismissals and parent-teacher conferences.

- 8/8: Administrative Day (Family Meet and Greet: 3:30 p.m. – 6:30 p.m.)
