Independence's Scott Blade Nominated as Tennessee Titans High School Coach of the Year
Coach of the year finalist Scott Blade has Independence headed back to the state final carrying the state's longest active winning streak.

NASHVILLE, TN — Independence High School football coach Scott Bladeis a finalist for the Tennessee Titans' high school football coach of the year.
The Eagles head man has Independence headed back to the state championship, playing for a second consecutive title and carrying the state's longest active winning streak.
The coach of the year will be named after the conclusion of the football state championships this weekend in Cookeville. A $2,000 grant will be given to the winning coach's football program and the coach will receive an all-expenses-paid trip to the 2017 Pro Bowl in Orlando.

Other finalists are Goodpasture coach Jerry Joslin, Oakland coach Kevin Creasy, Lausanne's Kevin Locastro, Marion County's Joey Mathis, Dresden's Derek Rang, Knoxville Central's Bryson Rosser and Whitehaven's Rodney Saulsberry.
