Middle Tennessee Storms: Tornadoes Touch Down in Davidson, Williamson, Wilson Counties
The National Weather Service said three tornadoes touched down in MIddle Tennessee Wednesday morning.
FRANKLIN, TN — The National Weather Service confirmed tornadoes touched down in Williamson, Davidson and Wilson counties Wednesday morning, causing "major damage" to portions of Cool Springs and leaving thousands without power. The first tornado touched down north of downtown Franklin, cutting a path from Fieldstone Park to Cool Springs Galleria. The City of Franklin said more than 450 buildings in the city received at least minor damage, perhaps the worst of it at the SunTrust Bank Branch in Cool Springs.
The Davidson County tornado extended from west of Cane Ridge Park to southeast Davidson County to Four Corners Marina on Percy Priest Lake, where there was heavy damage to some boats and the docks.

The third tornado struck Watertown in Wilson County.
All three tornadoes were rated as EF1, meaning winds in the storm were between 86 and 110 mph.

The NWS issued a tornado warning shortly before 7 a.m. Wednesday as radar-indicated rotation pushed into the Cool Springs area. Radar indicated winds nearing 100 mph in the core of the storm as it then pushed north and northeast into Nolensville, southeast Davidson County and La Vergne and Smyrna.

Major damage is reported, particularly in Cool Springs, but as of yet no injuries have been reported.

Structural damage reports coming in. Damage to a Cool Springs bank is described as major. No injuries reported.

The City of Franklin posted some video of the storm damage around the city.
More than 4,500 people in Williamson County and more than 17,500 Nashville Electric Service customers were without power in the wake of the storm, and at least 15 traffic signals across Franklin and Brentwood were down or malfunctioning.
