New Principal Named At Oak View Elementary

Oak View Elementary School assistant principal Amy Stephenson will take over as principal July 1.

FRANKLIN, TN -- Oak View Elementary School assistant principal Amy Stephenson will step into the top spot at the Franklin school July 1, Williamson County Director of Schools Mike Looney announced Monday.

“Amy was the perfect choice for Oak View,” Looney said in a release. “She knows the school community, and I’m confident she will continue to build upon the strong foundation already in place there.”

Oak View's principal, Tom Morris, is leaving WCS at year's end.

Stephenson has served as the assistant principal at Oak View for the past five years. Prior to that time, she served in the same role at Varsity Lakes Middle School in Florida for three years and taught at the third, fourth and fifth grade levels for a combined six years.

"It has been my absolute privilege to serve as the assistant principal of Oak View for the past five years," Stephenson said. "As Oak View's new principal, I look forward to building upon our current successes and continuing to establish relationships with students, staff, parents and the community. Oak View will continue to be a school of excellence due to the support and encouragement from all stakeholders."

Stephenson holds a bachelor's degree in elementary education from the University of Wisconsin-Platteville and a master's in educational leadership from Florida Gulf Coast University.
