Pilgrimage Music & Cultural Festival: Everything You Need To Know

Here's the lowdown on traffic, parking, weather, food ... and the music for this weekend's big event in Franklin.

FRANKLIN, TN — The Pilgrimage Music & Cultural Festival returns to Franklin's Harlinsdale Farm Saturday and Sunday September 24 and 25 for two days of live music, art, crafts, food, drink and general merrymaking.

Here’s everything you need to know.

When: Gates open at 10 a.m. both Saturday and Sunday, with music beginning at 10:30. The last show each night is scheduled to wrap up at 8 p.m.

Where: Harlinsdale Farm in Franklin on between the Harpeth River and Franklin Road near the Liberty Pike intersection.

Tickets: Still available! One-day passes run $69, and there are some VIP options, as well.

Directions and Parking: I-65 to Cool Springs Blvd. West, exit 68. Continue west until the road dead ends into Mack Hatcher Parkway. Turn right and continue to the first traffic light, Franklin Road, and turn left. Drive 1.5 miles, and The Park at Harlinsdale will be on the right.

There is limited parking at Harlinsdale ($20), but off-site parking ($10 or free if a car has three or more people inside) is available at Liberty Elementary and Ligon Field, both of which are a short walk to the park. The Uber pick-up and drop-off is at the Factory at Franklin, and there are shuttles from Hillsboro Village and Germantown in Nashville available for an extra fee. Biking and paddling to the festival are encouraged and there is free canoe and kayak parking on the beach at the park.

Street parking in Franklin is also permitted, but all parking laws will be enforced.

Traffic Changes: During both days of the festival:

  • Southbound traffic only will be permitted from Harpeth Industrial Court to First Avenue;
  • The northbound lane will be reserved for pedestrians, bicycles, and festival shuttle service;
  • Two-way traffic flow will remain from Harpeth Industrial Court to Mack Hatcher;
  • The roadway will open to regular travel patterns Sunday night at approximately 10 p.m.

Franklin Police Officers will direct traffic along Franklin Road and will assist residents who need to exit or enter their driveways or affected streets.

Performance schedule: The festival has its lineup here. Top acts on Saturday include folk punk pioneers Violent Femmes, Grace Potter, Cake and Beck. Sunday features 90s hitmakers Better Than Ezra (whose co-founder Kevin Griffin also co-founded the festival), Canadian emo-wailer-turned-folky-crooner City & Colour, new-old country favorites Kacey Musgraves, Margo Price and Jason Isbell, and Daryl Hall & John Oates.

Weather: Look for highs in the low 90s and lows in the upper 60s with no rain chances either day.

Food & Drink: There isa lot of local food and beer available in the midway, plus a beer hall with TVs for folks who just can't miss the weekend football action.

What Not to Bring: Blankets must be no larger than 8' by 10' and chairs must have backs shorter than 30". No outside alcohol or food is permitted, nor are glass bottles of any kind. No cameras with removable lenses, beach umbrellas, chain wallets, inflatables of any kind (including footballs), tents, large backpacks or drones. A full list of prohibited items is here.
