Prescription Drug Take-Back Day Is October 28
The DEA's annual pill drop-off day is Saturday. Find out where to turn in old prescriptions in Franklin.

FRANKLIN, TN — Saturday, Oct. 28 is National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day, part of the Drug Enforcement Administration's "Count It! Lock It! Drop It!" campaign.
The DEA and other organizations have set designated turn-in points for expired and unused prescriptions, part of an effort to curb opioid and other prescription drug abuse.
At the spring take-back event in April, Tennesseans disposed of more than 15 tons of drugs at 116 take-back events statewide.

Substances Accepted at Take-Back Events
- Unused or expired prescriptions that you legally possess
- Unused or expired medications that were prescribed to a person in your household
Substances Not Accepted at Take-Back Events

- Illicit drugs, such as marijuana, heroin and LSD
- Insulin syringes or other medical sharps and needles
- Asthma inhalers
- Iodine-containing medications
- Mercury-containing thermometers
The Walgreens at 1509 Murfreesboro Road is holding a take-back event Saturday.
In addition, drop boxes are available at the Williamson County Sheriff's Department.
