MONTGOMERY COUNTY, TX — Coronavirus cases continue to drop across the country while the number of those who are fully vaccinated continues to rise, which means there is even more reason to celebrate this Independence Day. July 4 is almost here, so it's time to find out what Fourth of July fireworks and festivities are going on near you.

When: 8 a.m.-2 p.m., July 3
After having to cancel last minute in 2020 because of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Montgomery Area Chamber of Commerce is excited to bring back this family-oriented celebration. Freedom Fest will include an anything-but-a-trailer parade, which will be judged in three categories encompassing spirit, patriotism and creative design, and a junior creative arts show, which will show off skills and hobbies of kids up to age 19. There will be vendors, food and a Kids Zone complete with bounce houses, yard games and face painting. It promises to be fun for people of all ages.

What: South County Fourth of July Parade
Where: Market Street, The Woodlands
When: 9 a.m. (pre-parade entertainment at 8 a.m.), July 3
Get a great view of the parade in the center of The Woodlands, the parade route is a square around Grogan's Mill Road, Lake Robbins Drive and Lake Woodlands Drive, connecting around Market Street. The 1.3-mile parade will feature marching bands, floats, fire engines and more. Stick around after to enjoy a Saturday afternoon on the Waterway, which features a number of intriguing shops and delicious eateries.
What: Stars at Night - A Salute to Service
Where: The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion (2005 Lake Robbins Dr., The Woodlands)
When: 8 p.m., July 3
The Woodlands Symphony Orchestra will perform in a free concert to celebrate America's birthday and honor local service heroes. The orchestra, led by Artistic Director Darryl Bayer, will feature a selection of patriotic favorites in this Independence Eve celebration. The event will also recognize local teachers, first responders, medical teams and front line workers who exemplified service during the pandemic. What: Red, White & Pool
Where: The Woodlands village pools, various locations
When: 11 a.m.-6 p.m., July 4
All of The Woodlands' pools will be hosting 4th of July festivities with patriotic decorations, activities and refreshments. The Independence Day-specific celebrations will be from noon-4 p.m. Grab your swimsuit and dive in!
What: Independence Day Picnic in the Park
Where: Candy Cane Park (1204 Candy Cane Lane, Conroe)
When: Noon-5 p.m., July 4
VFW Post 4709 is hosting a family-friendly 4th of July celebration that includes traditional festival food such as hot dogs, cotton candy and snow cones as well as the American staple, apple pie. The celebration, located at Candy Cane Park behind VFW Post 4709, will include a bounce house, dunk tank, face painting and outdoor games.
What: 24th Annual Red, Hot & Blue Festival and Fireworks Extravaganza

Last year's event was diminished to a drive-in fireworks show, but the Red, Hot & Blue Festival is ready to go again in 2021. The highlight is the 18-minute fireworks display that begins at 9:30 p.m. The primary display will be adjacent to the Northshore Park location with a secondary close-proximity display with special effects at Town Green Park. Other displays will be at Rob Fleming Park and Waterway Square. Be sure to look at the sky beforehand as test fires will be shot off at 9, 9:10 and 9:20 p.m. to give spectators a chance to get a good viewing spot. What: Magnolia 4th of July Celebration
Where: Unity Park (19450 Unity Park Dr., Magnolia)
When: 4 p.m., July 4
The children's bicycle/tricycle parade begins at 5:30 p.m., and a fireworks show sponsored by the City of Magnolia will begin at dusk. Several food trucks will be at the park, and officers from the Magnolia Police Department will show kids how electronic fingerprinting works. Click here for more information.
What: 4th of July Lone Pint Fireworks Celebration
Where: Lone Pint Brewery (507 Commerce St., Magnolia)
When: Noon-7 p.m., July 4
Celebrate America's birthday in Magnolia, where a DJ will keep the party going all afternoon. Food will be available for purchase from Reveille BBQ Food Truck, and a video game truck will be there from 3-5 p.m. Fireworks start at dusk. For more information, click here.
What: Walden Yacht Club Fireworks
Where: Yacht Club Peninsula, Lake Conroe (13101 Melville Dr., Montgomery)
When: 9 p.m., July 4
Watch a beautiful fireworks display over Lake Conroe. No golf carts are allowed this year, and shuttles will be available. Click here for parking and shuttle information.
What: Freedom Over Texas
Where: ABC13 Houston, Eleanor Tinsley Park (off Allen Parkway, Houston)
When: 7-10 p.m., July 4
Houston's signature day-long 4th of July celebration is on hold for another year, but Freedom Over Texas will be broadcast by ABC13. The virtual celebration will include a stellar lineup of musical guests, including Academy of Country Music Award winners Lee Brice and Jimmie Allen. American Idol contestant Alanis Sophia, Brian Jack & the Zydeco Gamblers, the Houston Symphony and Houston Methodist Singers round out the event's performers. The event will close with a fireworks show, which will take place west of downtown. It can be viewed on the broadcast, and Eleanor Tinsley Park will be open only for people viewing the fireworks in person. Every year a portion of the proceeds from Freedom Over Texas go to the Houston Food Bank, and this year's edition will include a text-to-give promotion. What: New York Yankees at Houston Astros
Where: Minute Maid Park (501 Crawford St., Houston)
When: 7:10 p.m., July 9
The Houston Astros are on the road against the Cleveland Indians during 4th of July weekend, so they're pushing their celebration to the next weekend - perfect for those of you who didn't quite get your fill of fireworks on Independence Day. The Astros host the New York Yankees at Minute Maid Park and will hold their Friday Night Fireworks promotion after. The theme is Americana. For tickets, go here.
