American Rescue Plan Funds: The Agenda In Montgomery County
Conroe City Council will have preliminary discussion on its $15.8 million of Coronavirus Local Fiscal Recovery Fund relief money.

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, TX — The Conroe City Council will discuss the Coronavirus Local Fiscal Recovery Fund, part of the American Rescue Plan Act, during its workshop and meeting this week, which will begin at 2 p.m. Wednesday and reconvene at 9:30 a.m. Thursday at Conroe City Hall.
The City of Conroe was awarded $15.8 million in federal funding from the Coronavirus Local Fiscal Recovery Fund on May 10, when the U.S. Department of Treasury released the figures.
The money is on the agenda this week, as the City Council will have preliminary discussions on the fund as well as discussion and possible action on contracts for procurement and administrative services and an engineering services consultant regarding American Rescue Plan funds.

During the session, the City Council also will have a joint meeting with the Conroe Local Government Corporation with a single agenda item on project and financing documents regarding the Conroe Convention Center Hotel Project.

The Montgomery County Commissioner's Court also will discuss its allotment of $117.9 million in American Rescue Plan funds during an executive session in its 9:30 a.m. meeting Tuesday. Monday:
The Splendora ISD Board of Trustees will hold a special meeting at 5 p.m. in the Splendora ISD administration building boardroom, where they will hear and consider action on a recommendation on a new principal for Splendora High School. Tuesday:
The Montgomery City Council will have its regular meeting at 6 p.m. with in-person attendance limited. There will be a Zoom conference available to watch the meeting with login information available on the agenda. The Montgomery City Council will consider action on the awarding of a water and sewer operation and maintenance services contract as well as the appointment of Ward, Getz & Associates LLP as city engineer with a professional services contract for engineering services.
Wednesday:
The Woodlands Township Board of Directors will hold a regular meeting at 6 p.m. at The Woodlands Township building. The board will receive an update on the incorporation planning process and will consider actions on the next steps in the process, which stems from an incorporation planning study conducted in 2018. The board also will consider action on a plan of finance regarding the issuance of unlimited tax refunding bonds as well as on funds earmarked for the Spring Creek Greenway Project. The Shenandoah City Council will hold its regular meeting at 7 p.m. at the Shenandoah Municipal Complex, where it will hear public comments and consider action on a zoning amendment that would allow a special use permit for mixed beverages on-premise at EVEN Hotel.
