Commissioners To Discuss Disaster Declaration: The Agenda In MoCo
Montgomery County Commissioners are likely to follow Gov. Abbott and ratify a border crisis disaster declaration at a special meeting.

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, TX — The Montgomery County Commissioners Court is holding a special meeting Tuesday to consider and possibly approve the ratification of a local disaster declaration to address the border crisis.
Texas Gov. Greg Abbott issued a disaster declaration for several counties near the Texas-Mexico border on May 31 and amended that order Friday to include more counties. In the newest order, 34 counties are included with Montgomery County not among those listed.
Abbott also announced earlier this month that Texas is allocating $250 million as a down payment for a proposed border wall, according to the Texas Tribune.
