Conroe PD seek Information About Attempted Truck Hijacking
An attempted truck hijacking in Conroe has left local authorities and the Texas Department of Public Safety stumped.

CONROE, TX — Gunshots and sparking metal perforated the night of Friday, July 29, when someone tried to hijack a semi on I-45 North near Wilson Road.
The attempted hijacking may have happened in Conroe, but the incident started about 50 miles south — in Houston's Third Ward.
The big rig was on a run to deliver some lemons and cantaloupes to a grocery supply company that's between Cullen and 288, in the southern part of Trey Ward.

If 61 Riesner knows what some Sunnyside boys from down-off-Scott would want with an empty eighteen-wheeler, they ain't talking.
Five-oh's theory is that, after they tried to jack the truck, this crew followed the driver for almost an hour — all the way through H-Town, Spring and The Woodlands.
The driver was deadheading it up I-45. Once he hit the Wilson Road overpass in Conroe, at around 11 p.m., two cars —one dark colored, possibly a Pontiac Grand Prix, the other a white Audi — pulled up beside him.
Once the cars got along the side of the truck, both vehicles started blasting. They shot out three of the truck's tires and left rounds in another.
The shooting sent theatergoers at the Star Cinema Grill scrambling for cover. Despite the loss of his tires, the trucker was able to keep the rig under control and get off the freeway.
Both of the cars followed the truck off the freeway. Someone got out of one of the cars and started walking towards the truck, the trucker bailed out the driver's side and sprinted across the freeway to a Walmart.
Seeing the driver run through Friday night traffic on I-45 and come into the store dripping with sweat, prompted several people to call 9-1-1. As is customary to say, the investigation is ongoing.
