Conroe Announces Property Tax Hearing

CONROE, TX — The Conroe City Council will hold a hearing to discuss the city's proposed property tax rate on Aug. 10. The proposed property tax rate is $0.42 per $100 of valuation.

Although the tax rate is the same as last year's, because of increases in property value homeowners can expect their property taxes to go up.

The proposed rate is still significantly higher than the effective rate of $0.4045 per $100. The effective rate is the tax rate needed to raise the same amount of property tax revenue as was generated last year.

The hearing will be held at 2 p.m. in the City Council Chambers at Conroe City Hall, 300 W. Davis St., in Conroe.
