Conroe Gospel Concert to Benefit Area Homeless Shelter
An Aug. 14 Gospel concert in Conroe will benefit a Montgomery County homeless shelter.

CONROE, TX — The sounds of silence will be competing with the hosannas and hallelujahs at First United Methodist Church in Conroe on Aug. 14.
The church, 4308 W. Davis, will be holding Gospel Extravaganza XIX, or Gospel Extravaganza 19, at 6 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 14, in the sanctuary.
The event will be bring together eight area churches: First Baptist Church, First Presbyterian Church, First United Methodist Church, Grace Lutheran Church, Sacred Heart Catholic Church and Tree of Life Lutheran Church, all of which are from Conroe. Wildood United Methodist Church from Magnolia and Trinity Episcopal Church from The Woodlands will also participate.

In addition to the various choirs, the concert will also feature performances from notable Houston Gospel and choral musicians Barbara Johnson Tucker and Thomas Jaber. Tucker is a nationally recognized Gospel singer while Jaber is an internationally recognized concert pianist and choir conductor.
