Conroe Groundwater District Holding Minecraft Challenge

The Lone Star Groundwater Conservation District is holding a Minecraft challenge for students.

Conroe, TX --The Lone Star Groundwater Conservation District is holding the inaugural Minecraft Water Challenge. The district is offering cash prizes to students from elementary to high school to use the open world, sandbox video game to create a model of a water delivery system.

Participants are being asked to create a water source, such as a river or a lake, a way to move the water, such as a pipeline or an aqueduct, and a place to deliver the water to. To submit the model contestants are required to create and upload a 30-second Youtube video.

Prizes will be awarded to first through third place in elementary, middle and high school categories. All first place winners will receive $500 a piece, all second place winners will receive $250 a piece and all third place winners will receive $100 a piece.
