Conroe ISD Names Kaufman Elementary, Oak Ridge 9th Principals

CONROE, TX — The Conroe Independent School District Board of Trustees named new principals for Kaufman Elementary School and the Oak Ridge High School ninth grade campus at a special meeting Monday.

The board appointed Clinton Dulworth as the Kaufman Elementary principal and announced Shawn Almond as the Oak Ridge ninth grade principal. Dulworth is currently the assistant principal at San Jacinto Elementary, while Almond is an associate principle at Oak Ridge.

The board approved a 3 percent general pay increase for all employees except bus drivers, who will receive a 5 percent pay increase as part of the 2021-22 teacher hiring schedule and district pay program. The minimum wage for bus drivers was increased to $18 per hour with an increase to $12 per hour for all other hourly employees. The starting teacher salary was set at $58,500.

Three College Park students were honored for winning UIL Class 6A state wrestling titles. Olivia DeGeorgio won the girls 95-pound division, and Brittyn Corbishley won the girls 185-pound division. Jonathan Wertz won the title in the boys 182-pound weight class.

Conroe ISD health care personnel were recognized for their work during the COVID-19 pandemic in supporting the district's health protocols and communicating them with students, families and staff.
