Conroe's Likely American Rescue Plan Manager: The Agenda In MoCo
Conroe City Council is likely to hire Public Management, Inc. for administrative services related to American Rescue Plan funds this week.

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, TX — The Conroe City Council is likely to hire a project management and consulting firm to aid in its use of American Rescue Plan funds during its two-part workshop and regular meeting Wednesday and Thursday in the Conroe City Hall Council Chambers.
The City Council will discuss and consider a contract for Public Management, Inc. to provide administrative services for its use of money from the American Rescue Plan – Coronavirus Local Fiscal Recovery Fund.
Conroe’s allotment from the Coronavirus Local Fiscal Recovery Fund is just over $15.8 million, the U.S. Department of Treasury announced in May.

According to its website, Public Management, Inc. was founded in 1982 and provides consulting, planning and management services to Texas towns in “pursuit of prosperity.”
The City Council, which will convene its workshop at 2 p.m. Wednesday and reconvene for its regular meeting at 9:30 a.m. Thursday, also will enter executive session to discuss its ongoing litigation with the San Jacinto River Authority.

Two weeks ago, a Montgomery County District Court dismissed an SJRA lawsuit against the City of Conroe seeking to collect fee increases for Lake Conroe water dating back to 2016, according to a city news release.

Tuesday
The New Caney Independent School District Board of Trustees will convene a special meeting at noon to continue discussions on the acquisition of 32 acres of land near U.S. Highway 59 and Eagle Drive in New Caney. It’s the same agenda item discussed at a special meeting last week. The board will enter closed session to discuss the acquisition before considering action in open session.
