Courtney Dyer Named Montgomery ISD Director Of Community Services
Jaimie McCallister and Megan Evans were appointed as the elementary and secondary instructional coordinators at the latest board meeting.

MONTGOMERY, TX — Courtney Dyer was named Montgomery Independent School District's first director of community services at the Board of Trustees meeting Tuesday night, the district announced in a news release.
Dyer, who is the principal at Lincoln Elementary School, will take over the new role in July.
“Serving as the principal of Lincoln Elementary School was an honor and I will dearly
miss my Bear family,” Dyer said in the release. “However, I am thrilled for the opportunity to expand my role to one that will allow me to support even more students and families across our
district.”

Dyer will be responsible for building and promoting positive relationships between families, schools and the community in order to address social and emotional needs of students and families. Dyer will be the district's homeless and foster care liaison as well as the coordinator for pregnancy-related services, and she will coordinate with school counselor's to lead the district's mentorship program.
"We're excited about adding this important role to our district," Superintendent Heath Morrison said in the release. "Educating the whole child by addressing needs they may have outside of the classroom has become a critical function as it relates to ensuring students have the necessary supports to excel academically."

Dyer was principal at Lincoln for three years and has served in a variety of roles in education for 22 years, which includes stints as an assistant principal, school counselor and teacher. A search for a new Lincoln Elementary School principal is underway, and officials said district leadership hopes to fill that position in July.
Dyer's appointment was one of four announced at the meeting, with Jaimie McCallister the new elementary instructional coordinator, Megan Evans the new secondary instructional coordinator and Ellisa Cross the new director of transportation. McCallister was the elementary instructional coach at Madeley Ranch Elementary School, and Evans comes to Montgomery ISD from Katy ISD, where she was a secondary instructional coach. Cross was previously the operations manager at Klein ISD.
