Dave Campbell's Texas Football: Magnolia West Alumnus On Cover

MAGNOLIA — Former Magnolia West defensive back Myles Jones is on the cover of the 2021 Dave Campbell's Texas Football Magazine, the magazine announced in a reveal via Twitter on Friday.

Jones is part of an ensemble of Texas A&M defenders on the cover of the iconic Texas magazine. Also featured are defensive ends DeMarvin Leal and Micheal Clemons and safety Demani Richardson.

The phrase "The New Crew" is splashed across the cover, a reference to the Aggies' resurgent defense, which used to be dubbed "The Wrecking Crew" when it fielded dominant units in the 1980s and '90s.

Jones is returning for a second senior season, a provision allowed by the NCAA because the 2020 season was altered because of the COVID-19 pandemic. Jones has played in 46 games for the Aggies, making 121 tackles and intercepting four passes. He also has broken up 32 passes at A&M, leading the team with nine breakups in 2018.

Jones earned honorable mention on the 2016 APSE Class 5A All-State Team and was a second-team pick on the Dave Campbell's Texas Football Super Team his senior season at Magnolia West after recording 29 tackles, three interceptions and nine pass breakups.
