Lake Creek Puts Four On TGCA All-State Softball Team
Emiley Kennedy, Caelee Clark, Ava Brown and Maddie McKee made the 5A team, while The Woodlands' Kayla Falterman was named to the 6A team.
MONTGOMERY, TX —Four Lake Creek players were named to the Texas Girls Coaches Association Class 5A All-State Softball Team, which was released Thursday.
Senior Emiley Kennedy, junior Caelee Clark and sophomores Ava Brown and Maddie McKee all were named to the squad after helping the Lions to a 38-2 record and a berth in the Region III final, the deepest postseason run in school history.
The Lions went undefeated in the regular season, including a perfect District 20-5A championship, and they're only losses came when they were knocked out in the regional final by eventual state champion Barbers Hill.

Kennedy, the pitcher and first baseman who will play at Texas A&M next season, finished with a sparkling 0.19 ERA and 201 strikeouts in 106 innings pitched. She had a 17-2 record with four saves, and she limited traffic on the base paths with a .082 batting average against and a 0.53 WHIP. At the plate, she hit .398 with 13 home runs and 37 RBIs.
Brown also was a two-way standout, leading the Lions in batting average (.591), on-base percentage (.609), slugging percentage (1.243), doubles (22), home runs (17) and RBIs (65). She notched 40 extra-base hits and had an astronomical 1.853 OPS. In the circle, she went 16-0 with a 0.92 ERA in 83 1/3 innings pitched. She struck out 165 and had a 0.38 WHIP.

Clark batted .500 with a .571 OBP and recorded 10 doubles, four triples, a homer and 45 RBIs. She was stellar on defense at second base with a .985 fielding percentage and helping turn three double plays.
McKee was first on the team with 64 runs scored, tied for the team lead with five triples and was second with a .575 average and .603 OBP. She added five home runs and 34 RBIs.
Also earning all-state recognition in Montgomery County was The Woodlands senior second baseman Kayla Falterman, who was named to the 6A team. Falterman helped lead the Highlanders to the 6A Region II semifinals, where they fell to Bryan. She hit .515 with seven triples, 67 runs scored and 35 RBIs.
