Lone Star Family Health Center Board of Directors Announces New Slate of Officers

CONROE, TX – The Lone Star Family Health Center (LSFHC) Board of Directors has elected a new slate of officers for 2017. Duke Coon will begin leading LSFHC as Chairman of the Board with Maria Baños Jordan serving as Vice Chair and Patty Garcia as Secretary.

“Lone Star Family Health Center is making strategic moves to further its mission to provide healthcare access to the community,” states Coon, “I am grateful that this Board of Directors has chosen me to lead that effort.”

Duke Coon is President and Chief Executive Officer of Hadco International, LLC and Mayor Pro Tem for the City of Conroe. Coon is a proud Navy Veteran and product of Conroe, Texas. He is an active member in the Montgomery County community as a member of the Conroe City Council, president of the Crighton Theatre Foundation and member of the LSFHC Board of Directors since 2008. When Coon assumes the chairman position he will continue the work of outgoing chairman, Hugh Shannonhouse.

“Hugh has led the effort to position LSFHC as Montgomery County’s health home,” says Coon, “The Board of Directors is grateful for his vision and leadership over the past two years.”

Maria Baños Jordan has served on the LSFHC Board of Directors since 2014. In addition to being President and Founder of the Texas Familias Council, she is an active member of the community, serving Montgomery County organizations such as the Montgomery County Latina Women’s Initiative, Crisis Assistance Center, Committee on Emerging Communities in Montgomery County and the Lone Star College System Hispanic Advisory Council.

Patty Garcia has served on the LSFHC Board of Directors since 2015, and is the Director of Human Resources for the Texas Department of Criminal Justice and is a member of the Montgomery County Society for Human Resource Management.
