MoCo Meeting Roundup: Conroe ISD Moving Forward On Land Purchase
The Splendora City Council canceled its Monday meeting, and the Montgomery ISD Board of Trustees swore in re-elected members.
MONTGOMERY COUNTY, TX — A pair of school districts in Montgomery County held Board of Trustees meetings this week, with Conroe ISD holding an executive session to discuss land purchases.

The Conroe ISD Board of Trustees approved a measure to allow Superintendent Curtis Noll to negotiate two separate land purchases of 16 and 18 acres in the Caney Creek feeder zone in its Tuesday meeting. The board also was presented with hundreds of name recommendations for a new elementary school and a new junior high school in the district.

The Montgomery ISD Board of Trustees approved Mark Weatherly as the district's director of curriculum and instruction at its special meeting Tuesday.
In the board's regular meeting, which convened shortly after the special meeting, re-elected board members Trey Kirby and Linda Porten took their oaths of office for Positions 4 and 5, respectively.
Catherine Bartlett, principal of Lone Star Elementary School, and Justin Marino, the district's director of communications, presented a three-year strategic plan. The plan is set for approval at the board's June 15 meeting.
