Montgomery County Community Youth Outreach Alliance Receives Award

Montgomery County Community Youth Outreach alliance recently received an award for innovation.

CONROE, TX — The Community Youth Outreach alliance was recently recognized by the Texas Network of Youth Services with the Steve Wick Innovative Program Award.

The Community Youth Outreach alliance is made up of Montgomery County Youth Services, Angel Reach, and CASA Child Advocates of Montgomery County.

The three organizations got together in 2014 with the help of a United Way Grant. The members of the alliance used the grant money to fund a community resource center to aid at-risk and homeless young adults who have aged out of the foster care system.

The center helps young adults transition from the foster system to living on their own and provides clients with the tools necessary to become successful, functioning citizens.

The award was presented at Texas Network of Youth Services' 33rd annual statewide conference, which was held at Houston’s Westin Galleria.
