Montgomery County Surpasses 163K Fully Vaccinated Residents
The numbers come a day after Gov. Greg Abbott announced that 0 COVID-19 deaths were reported in a day for the first time since March 2020.
CONROE, TX — Montgomery County has surpassed 163,000 residents fully vaccinated against COVID-19, according to data from the Texas Department of State Health Services.
The Montgomery County Public Health District released the information in a tweet Monday, stating that 163,301 Montgomery County residents have been fully vaccinated. That number is 34.95 percent of the county's 16 and older population. The Food and Drug Administration also gave the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine emergency use authorization for adolescents between the ages of 12 and 15 last week.
The data release comes a day after Texas Gov. Greg Abbott announced on Twitter that no COVID-19 deaths were recorded in a single day for the first time since COVID-19 case and death information began being tracked in March 2020.

MCPHD added 228 cases Monday, bringing Montgomery County's total to 53,802 since the start of the pandemic. This marked an increase of 133 active cases to 1,445. Hospitalizations continued a downward trend, with 77 known in the county, two less than Friday. There are 22 patients with COVID-19 in intensive care.
MCPHD continues to encourage residents to get vaccinated. The Woodforest Bank Stadium vaccine hub in Shenandoah is closing June 3 and will be administering only second doses of vaccine until then.
